Automation of incoming orders
Orders are received by a customer as a PDF document by mail. The transfer of the necessary information was done manually into the company's ERP system. This work step was very time-consuming, as a high number of orders are received per day. Thanks to maesn's help, this business process could be automated.
The customer, a plastics manufacturer, has the problem that the ordering process of its customers only takes place by mail and it therefore has to read out important information from a PDF file and transfer it to its ERP system.
Initial situation:
Orders were received by our customer in the form of PDF documents, which were then read out by a document management system (DMS). The information was then transferred manually from the DMS to the ERP. This resulted in an enormous amount of time and a high potential for errors, as all information was transferred manually.
Solution:
Maesn helped the client to significantly improve this business process. Thanks to the implementation of maesn, the DMS and ERP systems were integrated via maesn, making the data transfer completely automated.
Result:
Thanks to the help of maesn, this process has been fully automated. The data is now automatically extracted from the orders and transferred to the ERP system. This has saved the customer 300 minutes per day of a worker spending so much time on this every day. In addition to the time saved, the error rate was also reduced to zero.
